HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU!! I hope you will have time first with the love our your life - Jesus - who is our ultimate love. We opened our Valentines tonight because Ashlyn heads out the door early for school and then we head to her State championship basketball game tomorrow night; so it was going to be a crazy day! We will head out to eat Friday night to celebrate! I posted some pictures for you to enjoy. I made Tim some chocolate-covered strawberries. I am going to take these up to his office tomorrow morning along with a balloon bouquet. I also made some wonderful sugar cookies from a recipe my sis-in-law, Leslie, gave me. It is from the wonderful Blackberry Farms she and Jim enjoy once a year. They are so good. Ashlyn had fun opening her gifts tonight. She loves giraffes; so she got a Beanie Baby Giraffe, a cute Giraffe purse I found at Target and the wonderful "older" movie "Roxanne" ... remember that with Steve Martin and Darryl Hannah? We're going to watch that this weekend. Then of course we can't forget the chocolates!! I had mailed Brittney's Valentine box up to her at school last week and she is/has already enjoyed hers. I miss her being here to open it in front of us. I know ... the main thing is she gets it; but still ... she got chocolates and a gift card; which she LOVED. I posted a recent pix of her ... she just cut off several inches of her hair and I love it; she loves it!
One of the pictures I posted above you will see a brass double-heart. This is something my Daddy bought me when I was 16 years old when we lived in Mobile. My parents have always given us (the four kids) a Valentines. Daddy gave this special to me when I was a teenager. I loved it when I got it and it has been special to me ever since. It represents to me love unconditionally. I was a little rebellious during some of my teen years and his faithfulness of this gift has always reminded me of his unfailing love for me even when I was unlovable. I will cherish this forever!
My sweetie pie went overboard this year. He gave me an HOUR FULL-BODY MASSAGE ... oh yes!!! I'm calling to make that appointment tomorrow. Funny thing; I'm getting him a massage for his birthday! We have a jewelry store in town going out of business and I had held back a piece of jewelry. It is a lovely sage green bracelet. Then he also gave me a piece of razzle jewelry. That little sneak. I was so surprised. I am BLESSED. Not because I got jewelry, etc., but I'm blessed with the man God placed into my life going on 23 years ago.
We met January 1985. I had a broken engagement and was hurt, scared to put myself out there again. I didn't date anyone for about three years. I went out with some duds ... whew :) God moved his family to Florida the same year our family moved to Florida. We didn't meet for three years. Our first date we double-dated and it wasn't so great! The couple we doubled with fussed and we took sides!! We tried it again alone and went from there. We got married December 1985. I knew I loved him when I married him; but our love has grown, grown and grown in these 22 years. We've been through it all. Good, bad, the ugly. God has been faithful! We are best friends. He is an amazing husband, amazing Dad, amazing preacher! I love Tim and am proud of him!
Have a great Valentines!
