Daily Bread

Hello ... I am here ... I've been dealing with a sick one. Ashlyn has had the flu since Saturday. She woke up with a high fever, sore throat, bad cough. We went to Primary Care and there were "40" ... yes, 40 people in front of her. We signed her in and headed home for a few hours. She went back to school today. I love having her home. I always enjoyed our girls under Mom's skirt (most days). I rented videos, we hung out and watched movies. I miss her today. I'm glad she is feeling better. There is enough Lysol, Clorox wipe smell in this house to cure the world!! Tomorrow night is her regional tournament. The girls varsity basketball team is kicking it this year! She is so excited. She was the highest scorer in one of last weeks games. Go EMCA Wildcats! She cheered her last game of the year last week.

Our Brittney is doing great. She's in her last semester of college and she's got a load. She's such a task master, great at organizing, she's getting it done. It's hard to believe she's almost done. That will be an entire blog on it's own soon.

Pray for the campus of Union University in Tennessee. A horrible tornado hit their college campus. Our former youth pastor's daughter attends there and through an e-mail he let us know she is fine.

I was driving this morning to get my hair trimmed and heard Nancy Leigh DeMoss on the radio. I love hearing her; she is so pratical, Bible-based. You have to be careful who you listen to out there. I wanted to share what she said this morning. It was a blessing to me and I pray it will be to you.

"Ohhh, I'm stuffed. We eat and get full, then a funny thing happens the next day. Ohhh, I'm so hungry. Our bodies need food every day. When God provided manna in the desert, He told the children of Israel 'I will rain bread from Heaven for you, and the people will go out and gather a day's portion every day.' Each person had to gather his own manna, he couldn't save any overnight, except the day before the Sabbath. Collecting the bread was a daily thing. That's a picture of our relationship with the Word of God. Just like our bodies, our souls require daily food. I cannot become the woman God wants me to be if I'm not spending time in His Word each day. Yesterday's nourishment isn't good enough. I need a fresh taste today. When is the last time you filled up on the Word of God?"

This really ministered to me today. How many times has the Lord gotten my seconds? Thirds? Trying to live off what I read several days ago. I need a fresh word from my Lord every day; His mercies are new every morning. Lord help me to be more faithful to your Word.

Please pray for a friend of mine. We met at 17 years old and have been friends all these years. She lives in Georgia. Just pray for a family member. God knows and that's all that matters. She needs an extra touch from the Lord during this time. Thanks!

Enjoy the pictures. One is of my Mom and Ashlyn at a basketball game. The other is Tim and Ashlyn.

May God bless your day.

Joy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I so enjoyed this post. The message was so true... we do need a fresh word from the Lord each day. We live in Dacula but just moved here about a year and a half ago from Greenville, SC. Hope you will stop back by soon.
